Tom has been in insurance a long time having originally worked for an insurance company in South Yorkshire and the North West before moving South. After a number of years as their Northampton Manager, Tom decided to become an insurance broker in 1991.
He has considerable in depth technical insurance knowledge and a keen interest in maintaining the independence of the insurance broking profession. Tom has been a Director of Bernard A. Potter (Insurance Brokers) Ltd, a Commercial Account Manager for Country Mutual Insurance Brokers Ltd and Sales Manager for Towergate Risk Solutions. He is a Past President of the Northamptonshire Insurance Institute, a Chartered Insurance Broker and holds a First Class Honours Degree in Insurance Management. He has represented both the Chartered Insurance Institute and the British Insurance Brokers Association on behalf of the East Midlands.
Fluent in German, Tom was educated both in the UK and abroad. He spent many years as a ski instructor although these days, his various sporting interests are mainly as a spectator. As an England Golf Captain Society member he still continues to be a keen golfer.
Simon joined the TSB Bank as a trainee manager and worked in several branches throughout southeast England and South London.
In 1988, Simon joined Keith R Drysdale Limited insurance brokers, based in Beaconsfield, becoming Company Secretary. The Company was eventually acquired by NFU Mutual and Simon took on the role of Broker Manager at the Country Mutual office in Corby. After its merger with their Northampton Office Simon became Kettering Manager of the newly combined office. After the acquisition of Country Mutual by Towergate Risk Solutions in 2006, Simon became Managing Director.
Simon is a Past President of the Insurance Institute of Northampton. He like Tom, has also contributed on several occasions to consumer related issues on Radio Northampton.
Simon has always been a keen footballer and currently coaches the Football in Medbourne, Leicestershire with both his sons playing for the Club. He has also served as the Chairperson of Drayton Parish meeting.
As a keen petrol head, Simon makes the odd pilgrimage to Le Mans.
Having worked for Insurance Brokers since 1991, Angela has a high level of knowledge and experience in handling all classes of Commercial Insurance. Taking a few years out in the late nineties to work in Las Vegas and enjoy the sunshine and bright lights.
She rejoined the team in April 2011 from Towergate, having previously worked with the Directors over several years.
Angela has a growing portfolio of clients and is very enthusiastic about her job.
With two daughters, Angela has an active family life as well as enjoying entertaining with friends in her free time.
Commercial Account Handler
A true Scot, originally from Dumfries and Galloway, Lewis has been an Insurance Broker since 2004 having started his career north of the border. He relocated to the East Midlands in 2010 where he became active in the Leicester Insurance Institute as a Young Members representative.
He is working towards his Diploma in Insurance and is seeking to develop his knowledge further and strengthen his contribution to the Team.
Lewis is married and the proud father of twin girls.
A keen football supporter and ex player he now restricts himself to hill walking and the occasional round of golf when parenting allows.
Senior Account Handler
Frances has worked in Insurance Broking for over 30 years, starting as an Office Junior learning motor insurance, then progressing into Commercial Insurance, where she has held roles as Account Handler, Account Executive and Commercial Team Manager.
In her early insurance years, Frances worked for a local Broker, Adams Tingle Insurances Ltd and gained a wide range of knowledge in handling all classes of Commercial Insurance. She continued her insurance career with Towergate Risk Solutions before joining the ‘Hallsdale Team’.
Frances has a Diploma in Insurance and continues to strive to provide the best advice and service she can to clients.
In her spare time, Frances is a keen runner and likes to take part in races ranging from 5k’s to Marathons, she also loves to Travel and occasionally combine the two!
Chartered Insurance Broker, Non Executive Director Hallsdale Insurance Brokers Limited
Grant started his general insurance career in October 1979 with Eagle Star in an Inspectors role. After a few years he was then enticed to move to a small regional broker in Norwich as an Account Executive.
The big lights of London called, and he was then given an opportunity to work for a small insurer (part of the CU) as City Inspector, responsible for many of the large national brokers. As Hibernian expanded, he moved to Ipswich as Local Manager to open and mange the office.
Since those days, Grant has held many senior roles within the Insurance and Broking areas. Grant has been an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and a Chartered Insurance Broker since 1993. He has served on several local institute councils and was President at Leicester. In 2014 he was honoured to receive an Exceptional Service Award in recognition of his services to both the local institute and to the CII.
He was Co-chair of the CII Chartered Centenary Campaign in 2011/2012. He was elected to the CII’s National Representative Council in July 2011 and then re-elected in 2014 representing the East Midlands constituency. Grant was Chair of the LI Grants Working Party which was set up in April 2013. From September 2014 to October 2020, Grant was CII Vice President of Local Institutes.
Grant is often seen and quoted both in the press and at industry events, promoting Chartered Status. He is also a member of the Worshipful Company of Insurers and Freeman of the City of London. Grant enjoys riding his motorcycle whenever he is able.
